INTRODUCTION: This is the first lesson in the Licensed to Learn (LTL) program. The LTL program driver education curriculum is an innovative instructional program designed to reduce the extremely high crash rate of novice drivers in their first months and years of driving. It provides a combination of in-class, in-car, and self-study instruction. The program is designed to give you, the novice driver, an opportunity to gain the experience that enables more experienced drivers to recognize and deal with the hazards on today’s highways. The Licensed to learn program is based on an in-depth analysis of the causes of crashes involving new drivers, including the unsafe acts of others.
